An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Associate, or a high-performing Associate ready to take the next step, to join a highly regarded Employment team in Sydney.
Working within a collaborative national practice, you will advise a diverse range of private sector and government clients across complex employment, industrial relations and workplace matters. About the Role
You will work closely with experienced senior practitioners on a broad range of employment and workplace relations matters, including:
* Advising employers on employment and industrial relations issues
* Representing clients in state and federal courts and tribunals
* Unfair dismissal and general protections matters
* Workplace discrimination and contractual disputes
* Employment advisory and risk management work
* Advocacy before the Fair Work Commission, Industrial Relations Commission and superior courts
* Supporting clients on workplace investigations, policies and compliance matters
You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with lawyers across multiple practice groups and develop strong client relationships through direct engagement and secondment opportunities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* 2+ years' post-admission experience in employment law
* Experience gained in private practice or in-house environments
* Exposure to employment litigation and workplace advisory matters
* Advocacy experience, or a strong willingness to develop advocacy skills
* Excellent drafting, communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong commercial awareness and client relationship skills
* The ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team environment
