The Science Teacher is responsible for creating a stimulating and encouraging learning environment for students of varying abilities through effective teaching, learning and pastoral care. To plan, prepare and deliver effective learning and teaching programs to students from Years 7 through to 12.
Selection Criteria
* Lesson Planning and Delivery Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging, rigorous Science programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. Shows a strong understanding of contemporary pedagogical approaches and the capacity to adapt learning to support the diverse needs, abilities, and backgrounds of all students.
* Classroom Management Proven capacity to create and maintain a positive and stimulating learning environment that promotes student engagement, respectful behaviour, and a sense of belonging.
* Marking and Assessment Commitment to timely, accurate, and meaningful assessment practices, informed by SCSA Achievement Standards. Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of targeted, constructive feedback in supporting student growth.
* Role Modelling and Catholic Ethos Ability to serve as a positive role model who upholds and actively promotes the Catholic ethos, Gospel values, and pastoral care principles of the school. Demonstrates respect, compassion, and integrity in all interactions, contributing to an inclusive and faith‐filled school culture.
* Resource Development and Collaboration Experience in developing innovative, high‐quality teaching resources and a willingness to collaborate with colleagues to share expertise, support team goals, and contribute to a culture of professional excellence.
* Professional Development and School Engagement Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice. Actively participates in cocurricular programs and contributes to the broader life of the school community.
