Crisis Support Worker - Domestic and Family Violence Specialist
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Support Worker to join our team in providing critical support to women and families experiencing domestic and family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Risk Assessment and Safety Planning: Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop comprehensive safety plans to support clients in navigating their situation.
* Crisis Case Management: Provide holistic crisis case management, ensuring clients are connected with relevant resources, such as accommodation, legal, and health services.
* Support Services: Assist clients in accessing longer-term support, including advocacy for housing, financial assistance, and counseling services.
* Client Engagement: Engage with clients to address immediate emotional and practical needs, offering compassionate and trauma-informed care.
* Case Notes and Reports: Maintain accurate and confidential case notes and reports.
Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as social work, psychology, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated understanding of domestic/family violence, including knowledge of abusive relationships, legal matters, child protection, and custody issues.
* Experience in providing crisis support and intervention services to individuals experiencing domestic and/or family violence.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
