Job Role: Category Buyer
As a senior category manager, you will be responsible for leading the buying process for food, grocery and general merchandise. You will work closely with suppliers to negotiate prices, manage product selection and develop long-term partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing category plans that align with business objectives
* Negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery
* Managing promotional planning and margin control
* Collaborating with retail and logistics teams to ensure stock is delivered in full, on time and on budget
Requirements:
* 3+ years of experience in a similar role with strong knowledge of supplier negotiations, contract management and margin control
* Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to inform commercial decisions
* Excellent communication and adaptability skills with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization
* A collaborative attitude and willingness to travel to regional locations
