Your new role
Design and maintain enterprise data architecture, including data models, warehouses, lakes, and pipelines
Develop a comprehensive data roadmap aligned with strategic initiatives
Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures
Act as the subject-matter expert for all data-related technologies
Provide technical leadership to Data Engineers and Analysts, ensuring best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into architectural solutions
Oversee deployment of new data technologies and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
Communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
Promote a data-driven culture across the organisation
Travel to multiple sites (Broken Hill, Adelaide, Dominican Republic) for project work
What you'll need to succeed
Essential:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
Minimum 10 years' experience in data engineering or warehousing, with 5+ years as a Data Architect
Proven experience designing end-to-end data solutions on Microsoft Azure
Expert-level knowledge of database technologies, data modelling, ETL/ELT principles
Strong experience with data governance, security, and compliance
Desirable:
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Experience in the mining or industrial sector
Familiarity with Big Data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Spark)
