Development Engineer role at Wyndham City Council. Full time, permanent position based in Werribee. Band 6 salary from $104,133.36 per annum plus superannuation and a fortnightly RDO.

Our teams design precincts, build infrastructure, develop policies and deliver programs to support a population growth to over 200,000 residents by 2040. The Engineering Development team leads planning of new suburbs, coordinates and approves civil infrastructure, and supports road, drainage and other municipal works for the future community.
As part of the Engineering Subdivision Unit, you will provide engineering expertise in the design of Council infrastructure on new subdivisions and developments, including checking and approving functional layout plans, detailed engineering drawings, public lighting plans, bulk earthworks, sewer and water reticulation plans, and more. You will contribute to new initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
What your day will look like
* Review Town Planning Applications and set planning permit conditions
* Review engineering plans for compliance with planning permit conditions, PSPs, 173 agreements, and Council and EDCM standards
* Provide professional advice in relation to subdivision development
* Review engineering cost estimates to calculate plan checking, supervision, maintenance and outstanding works bonds as required
* Attend site visits
* Liaise with developers, consultants and other key internal and external stakeholders
What you will bring
* Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering)
* Demonstrated knowledge of civil engineering design and construction principles
* Knowledge of Acts, legislation, Australian Standards, council bylaws and codes of practice for municipal infrastructure within Local Government
* High level of analytical skills for assessment and evaluation of development proposals
* Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering design plans
* Continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive and flexible attitude
