We are a supermarket chain specializing in fresh produce, fruit, vegetables and grocery items. We are currently looking for a motivated and experienced Grocery Buyer to join our Mulgrave store.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage stock ordering and maintain optimal product levels to meet customer demand while adhering to the purchasing budget set by Management
* Plan and implement in-store promotions and specials as required
* Negotiate pricing, discounts and deals with suppliers
* Identify new suppliers and innovative products to enhance our grocery range
* Supervise, train and ensure optimal performance of Grocery Assistants
* Assist with stock deliveries and organize shelves
* Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with their inquiries
* Perform other duties as directed by Management
Skill & Experience
* A minimum of 2years' experience in a similar role
OR
2 years' experience working within a grocery department
* Proven ability to manage stock, negotiate with suppliers, and manage a team effectively
* Flexibility to work weekends, as our stores operates seven days a week
