Business Engagement and Performance within Corporate Services Group empowers Council to create more community and organisational value through strategy and alignment, good governance, and clearer connections between people, services and processes. As the Branch Business Manager, you will be a key member of the Business Engagement and Performance Branch, providing high-quality advice and support to the General Manager while shaping the branch’s strategic direction and overseeing day-to-day operations. You will manage the General Manager’s Office activities and administration to ensure objectives and timelines are met, and oversee the development of the branch’s annual operating budget, project bids, and fees and charges while monitoring financial performance throughout the year. You will identify, manage, and monitor emerging projects and issues, implement workforce, business, and strategic plans, and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leaders and elected representatives. In a branch where priorities constantly evolve, you will lead through change and ambiguity, delivering both strategic and operational excellence. Acting on behalf of the General Manager, you will provide professional judgment on initiatives and proposals, influence decision-making, drive continuous improvement, and ensure the branch operates efficiently and effectively at a high standard. To be considered, you will have: experience in financial management, business operations, and reporting strong analytical and problem-solving skills with clear recommendations ability to manage sensitive information and handle complex issues discreetly proven leadership experience with strong agility in changing environments highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, and knowledge of Council policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
