Jacobs is seeking an experienced Technical Lead in Transmission Lines to join our growing APAC Transmission & Distribution team in Australia. This senior role will shape technical direction, influence major infrastructure outcomes, and grow your leadership profile within a global consultancy.
Responsibilities
* Lead complex overhead transmission line projects from concept through to construction, establishing design criteria, methodologies, and technical governance.
* Act as a technical authority for transmission line engineering, providing independent review, quality assurance, and risk management across projects.
* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and client requirements, including AS/NZS, ASCE, IEEE, and IEC.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to local and global engineering teams, building capability and supporting succession.
* Collaborate across disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, environmental) to deliver integrated project outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
* Play an active role in business growth through proposal development, technical leadership on bids, and client engagement.
* Build trusted advisor relationships with major utilities, developers, and government clients.
* Contribute to Jacobs' technical community of practice, industry forums, and thought leadership initiatives across the APAC region.
Qualifications
* A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
* Extensive experience in overhead transmission line engineering, including planning, design, and project delivery.
* A proven track record leading large, complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
* Strong technical judgement, with the confidence to make and defend engineering decisions.
* A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across geographies and cultures.
* A passion for technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Professional engineering accreditation (e.g. CPEng, NER, RPEQ, RPEV), or a clear pathway and support to achieve accreditation within a reasonable timeframe.
