LRH cares for a population of about 300,000 and is the regional provider of specialist services. Our catchment covers 42,000 square kilometres, from Phillip Island to Mallacoota in the far east of Victoria. Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) invites applications for the role of Divisional Director, Women’s and Children’s - a unique opportunity to shape and lead an essential division within a rapidly evolving regional health service.
Now is an exciting time to join the LRH team, with the $223.5 million expansion completed in March 2024. The upgrade includes brand new maternity and paediatric facilities, a new intensive care unit, increased medical and surgical beds, and new operating theatres. About the Role
This senior medical leadership position is responsible for the strategic, operational, and clinical oversight of Women’s and Children’s Services at LRH. You’ll work closely with senior medical leaders and senior LRH leadership to ensure excellence in patient-centred care.

The successful candidate will have the option to work clinically in their designated specialty (O & G or paediatrics), complementing the leadership responsibilities for the balance of 0.5EFT.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Providing clinical leadership across all women’s and children’s specialties Driving quality improvement, safety standards, and clinical governance Mentoring and supporting medical and clinical leaders across the division Contributing to the development and execution of strategic and operational business plans Championing clinical training, research, and interdisciplinary education programs Developing and maintaining partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders Expanding clinical trial capacity and research-informed practice across the division Managing financial and performance metrics aligned with health service priorities Supporting the implementation of PROMs, PREMs, and patient-centred outcome measures Enhancing LRH’s reputation as the regional referral centre for Gippsland Role-modelling the organisation’s values and behaviours, and effectively managing medical staff About You
You hold an MBBS and FRANZCOG or FRACP (or equivalent specialty qualification) with demonstrated leadership and service development experience. You bring a collaborative mindset, strong communication skills, and a passion for improving care outcomes through innovation, integration, and research.
Desirable: Research qualifications or experience in clinical trials is highly valued.
