As a Global Maritime Supply Chain Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the maritime build program through supplier technical reviews and quality assessments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, supply chain expertise, and team leadership experience. They must also be eligible for NV1 Security Clearance and possess an Australian citizenship.
Your key responsibilities will include reviewing engineering design requirements for naval applications, understanding shipbuilding codes and technical specifications, identifying potential suppliers to support procurement plans, and conducting pre-qualification reviews of manufacturers and suppliers.
You will also participate in on-site supplier assessments, compare international standards, and understand and evaluate Objective Quality Evidence (OQE).
To succeed in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and eligibility for Engineers Australia membership. You should also have knowledge of systems and technologies relevant to Australian shipbuilding, strong commercial acumen, and excellent communication skills.
In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess the ability to prioritize and set work standards. Experience in the Defence shipbuilding industry is advantageous.
