About the Role
The Department of Health Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join their team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assessing and planning nursing care for patients with acute medical and stroke-related conditions.
* Monitoring and managing patients' vital signs, neurological status, and overall health.
* Administering medications, treatments, and therapies safely and in accordance with clinical guidelines.
* Collaborating closely with doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.
* Providing education and emotional support to patients and their families.
* Maintaining accurate and timely patient records, including care plans and observation charts.
* Responding promptly to emergencies and deteriorations, initiating appropriate interventions.
* Contributing to ongoing professional development and training within the team.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* A solid understanding of acute medical conditions and stroke care management.
* Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
* Strong clinical assessment skills to accurately monitor patient conditions and identify signs of deterioration in an acute care setting.
