A dedicated organization empowering Aboriginal people to take control of their health and wellbeing through clinical and community programs is seeking a talented professional. Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, with outreach to other towns and communities.
About the Role:
The Executive Manager oversees grant acquisition, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Key responsibilities include managing grants, ensuring legal adherence, implementing risk management strategies, and collaborating with donors and government agencies. Strong financial management, leadership, and strategic planning skills are essential, along with team mentoring and high ethical standards to align with the organisation's mission.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement strategies and business plans focusing on governance, compliance, and risk management.
2. Build and maintain a compliance framework to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Support the organization's risk management approach and culture.
4. Communicate risk and compliance issues effectively, providing regular updates to the Board and committees.
5. Oversee quality assurance processes, including policy development and maintenance.
6. Lead the Risk & Compliance team, setting goals and performance expectations.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in grant management, including application and administration.
* Knowledge of governance frameworks and policy development.
* Understanding of legal and regulatory compliance requirements.
* Ability to develop and manage risk frameworks and assessments.
* Financial literacy, including budget and grant fund management.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors and government bodies.
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
* Experience in strategic planning related to governance and compliance.
* Ability to prepare and present reports to boards and stakeholders.
* Commitment to transparency, ethics, and accountability.
* Certificate of Aboriginality.
* Current National Police Check.
* Current Working With Children Check NSW.
* Valid driver's license for Australia.
