About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Officer to support and enhance the environmental performance of our mining operations. In this role, you will apply your existing technical skills while contributing to the development and implementation of strategies that minimise environmental impacts and support sustainable practices across site.
As an Environmental Officer, you will:
· Conduct field investigations, including sampling and monitoring of soil, water, noise, air quality and ground vibration
· Manage and verify sample preparation processes and laboratory chain - of - custody requirements
· Oversee site waste management programs and coordinate weed and pest control activities
· Maintain and improve the Sustainability Department's database and associated monitoring systems
· Prepare accurate data and documentation for statutory and internal reporting
· Contribute to the planning, delivery and monitoring of rehabilitation and revegetation projects
· Conduct revegetation health surveys and support the implementation of native vegetation offset management plans
· Analyse environmental monitoring data and identify trends or anomalies
· Provide recommendations based on findings
· Use environmental monitoring software or GIS tools (QGIS)
· Compliance monitoring and reporting obligations
· Experience interacting with regulators
About You
You bring a strong foundation in environmental science and a proven ability to apply your knowledge in a practical, operational setting. You are proactive, solutions - focused, and committed to continuous improvement in environmental performance.
You will also have:
* Approximately three plus years' experience in an environmental role, ideally within mining, resources, or a related industry
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science or a similar discipline
* Demonstrated experience using the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word and Excel
* Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
* Well - developed written communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports, submissions and presentations
* The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic operational environment
* A commitment to safe work practices and responsible environmental stewardship
