Who We Are:
Located 30km south of Perth, NewGen Power Kwinana (NPK) is one of Western Australia's largest and most advanced power plants. Using new technologies, we operate a 330MW, combined-cycle, gas-fired power station and have the capacity to supply 10 percent of the state's energy needs.
We're seeking a proactive and motivated Maintenance & Outage Superintendent to join our high-performing team at NPK. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of major maintenance and outage activities, working alongside skilled professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all maintenance and outage activities across the site. This includes developing maintenance strategies, overseeing daily operations, managing outages from end-to-end, and driving continuous improvement in reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, implementing, and managing outage and maintenance plans – including scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
* Overseeing day-to-day maintenance activities and major outages to ensure all work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
* Managing inspections, overhauls, and corrective maintenance of CCGT equipment (gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, generators, and auxiliaries).
* Leading and supporting a small team of planning and stores officers, operations team leaders, and contractors.
* Fostering a strong safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with HSE standards and company values.
* Conducting root cause analyses and implementing preventive measures to enhance equipment reliability.
* Building strong working relationships with OEMs, service providers, and internal stakeholders to drive best practice and continuous improvement.
About you:
You are a proactive, solutions-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You inspire confidence, communicate clearly, and lead by example.
You'll bring:
* A solid background in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and asset management.
* Knowledge of combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) technology and associated systems.
* A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Power Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* At least 5 years' experience in power generation or heavy industry, including team leadership.
* Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
* A commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
* Project management certification (desirable).
