Job Description
We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2026.

The role involves assisting teachers in delivering education programs and promoting a supportive learning environment. Education Assistants help students reach their full potential through academic, social, emotional, and physical skill development.
Suitable applicants should have high interpersonal skills and work collaboratively with staff to meet student needs. They should possess knowledge and experience working with students with disabilities and learning difficulties, including those on the autism spectrum.
A willingness to support students with low literacy and social skills is desirable. You will need to be committed to creating an inclusive and culturally responsive workforce reflecting the diversity of our schools and community.
Duties
* Under teacher direction, assist in education programs and promote a supportive learning environment.
* Assist teachers in delivering planned education programs to help students reach their full potential.
* Develop academic, social, emotional, and physical skills in students.
* Collaborate with staff to meet student needs and create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights.
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting.
* Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
