This is a full-time role supporting the maintenance and reliability of a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles, plant and construction equipment. You'll play a critical role in keeping projects moving by ensuring machinery is safe, compliant and operating efficiently. This position suits a trade-qualified mechanic looking for stable employment, varied equipment exposure and a supportive team environment. Tasks & Responsibilities * Service, diagnose and repair diesel engines, plant and heavy vehicles * Conduct scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs * Fault-finding on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems * Complete pre-start inspections and safety checks * Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation * Ensure compliance with WHS and company procedures * Liaise with site teams to prioritise equipment availability Skills & Experience * Trade-qualified Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent) * Experience with heavy vehicles, plant or civil equipment * Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills * Ability to read manuals, schematics and service documentation * Strong safety focus and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * White Card (or ability to obtain) Benefits & Perks * $45-$60 per hour super (depending on experience) * Full-time, permanent role with ongoing work * Modern fleet and varied equipment * Stable employment with a reputable civil contractor * Supportive team culture and safety-first environment * Opportunity to develop skills across civil plant and machinery About the company Guideline ACT is a long-established civil construction contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the ACT.
