About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to fill the role of Head of Department (Curriculum) for a rural and remote region. The successful applicant will work closely with the Senior Advisor (State Delivered Kindergarten) to provide support to selected kindergartens in rural and remote state schools.
The Head of Department (Curriculum) will focus on building the knowledge and capability of school leaders and educators in educational program and practice to support learners in kindergarten, including those in multi-age class settings. The position requires an early childhood teaching qualification, understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and Age-Appropriate Pedagogies.
Service delivery is to rural and remote schools with State Delivered Kindergarten only, therefore travel and overnight stays are a requirement of the position. The successful applicant will be able to negotiate the base location for this role.
The Head of Department (Curriculum) reports to the Principal of Middle Ridge State School, with support from the Director, State School Operations.
