When you join the team at Mission Australia, you become part of a community who are determined to end homelessness and ensure people in need can thrive. United by our Christian purpose and values, we advocate for a fairer Australia, to meet the growing needs of people across the country. Together we're building hope and possibility for all.

Your Opportunity

The

Aherlkeme Development Centre

(ADC) in Alice Springs provides transitional accommodation and culturally safe support services for Territorians who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Designed for individuals and families struggling to secure and maintain tenancies, ADC offers a holistic program of case management, life skills development, and practical assistance to help residents successfully transition into long-term housing in either the public or private rental market.

As a Case Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting clients through tailored case plans, advocacy, and referrals to essential services. This is an on-site position, requiring a proactive and client-focused approach within a culturally safe and trauma-informed framework. You will work closely with individuals and families to address immediate needs and build sustainable pathways toward housing stability and independence.

Your Key Responsibilities

* Conduct intake assessments, including Pre-Tenancy Interviews (PTI), and develop individualised case plans to support clients' transition to stable housing.
* Assist with tenancy applications, manage housing waitlists, and liaise with NT Housing and other stakeholders to secure suitable accommodation.
* Support clients with moving processes, setting up essential services, and building skills such as budgeting and tenancy rights education.
* Connect clients to relevant services such as financial assistance, mental health support, and employment programs, while maintaining strong collaborative relationships with internal and external providers.
* Identify tenancy and well-being risks, implement risk plans, and provide emergency relief support as rostered.
* Maintain accurate client records, complete reports, referrals, and statistical reviews, ensuring compliance with program guidelines.
* Deliver services within an Aboriginal cultural framework, respecting community protocols and supporting clients with complex trauma backgrounds.

Requirements for Success

* Significant experience in community services, homelessness, and/or housing sectors, with strong case management and assessment skills.
* Minimum Certificate IV in a relevant field, with at least one year of experience in case management.
* Proven ability to support individuals and families in securing and maintaining stable housing, including tenancy advocacy and wraparound services.
* Strong understanding of Aboriginal cultural systems and protocols, ensuring culturally responsive and respectful service delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional when working with clients experiencing complex trauma, distress, or aggressive behaviours.
* Excellent communication skills with ability to adapt to a range of audiences, strong time management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and client database systems.
* First Aid certificate is desirable.
* Full driver licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.

* Rewarding work – every day you know you're making a real difference
* Not-for-profit salary packaging, reducing your tax
* Free external, confidential counselling
