Community Outreach Specialist Role
The role of a Community Outreach Specialist is to establish connections between families, early-childhood providers and the school. This requires a culturally responsive approach that prioritizes community-focused initiatives.
This Kindergarten–Year 2 position involves proactive outreach, identifying potential students in the community, and building trusted relationships to support student engagement and well-being.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of transitions in the early years and experience collaborating with Early Childhood Education Centres (ECECs).
Key Responsibilities:
* Developing trusting relationships with families to enhance their child's attendance, engagement and overall well-being.
* Partnering with ECECs, Kindergartens, and playgroups to identify potential students before enrolment and facilitate smooth transitions into Prep.
* Collaborating with Indigenous leaders and community organizations to ensure culturally grounded support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
