An opportunity exists for a qualified Chef to join our well established and highly reputable Catering Department. We offer a supportive atmosphere, with an extensive education program so you get to work in a role that offers you work-life balance.
As a Chef your responsibilities will include: ·Maintain cleanliness and hygiene levels of food preparation area and kitchen equipment
·Meal and food preparation for patients, out patients and internal and external functions (when required)
·Maintain food stock levels
·Maintain regular daily temperature checking as per food safety standards
·Maintain Food Safety Program
·Liaise with management and facility staff
·Lead, supervise, coach and develop team members to deliver exceptional service
Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.
Selection Criteria: ·Certificate III in Commercial Cooking (essential)
·Good working knowledge and understanding of HACCP regulations
·Safe Food Handling Certificate
·Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (desirable)
·Available for shifts over a 7 day roster including weekend work
·Experience in hospital or hotel food service environment preferred
