Their well-established Field Operations team focusses on sustainable and high-quality poppy crop production, working closely with contract farmers to deliver premium poppy crops to their manufacturing Site in Westbury, Tasmania. Due to an increased area of poppy crop in the Northern Midlands area, EB are seeking a suitably qualified Field Officer to join our Field Operations Team.
About the Role
As a Field Officer, you will play a vital role in partnering with contract farmers to achieve optimal crop yields. This position is responsible for providing agronomic support throughout the crop cycle, from planting to harvest, ensuring the highest quality output while maintaining environmental and safety standards. You will have the following key responsibilities:
* Agronomic Support: Advise growers on crop activities such as sowing, irrigation, pest, and disease management to maximise yield and quality.
* Harvest Coordination: Organise and oversee the contracting and coordination of harvest activities for timely delivery to the Westbury site.
* Farmer Relations: Act as a liaison between Extractas and contract farmers, maintaining positive relationships and promoting the company's standards and values.
* Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to meet internal and statutory requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance.
* Health & Safety: Champion safe work practices, including safe driving, proper chemical usage, and adherence to safety policies.
About You

* Degree or diploma qualified in agriculture or a related field or extensive hands-on experience in modern agricultural practices.
* Outstanding relationship, organisational and communication skills, strong decision-making abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Energetic, enthusiastic, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a team player.
* Ability to work extended hours during peak work periods.
* Current, unrestricted Drivers' License.
