Role Purpose
The Oracle Cloud Technical Lead provides strategic, technical, and operational leadership across the Oracle PeopleSoft (EduPay) and Oracle Payroll environments, as well as the upcoming Oracle Managed Services procurement. The role ensures the department is positioned for a successful go‑to‑market process, a seamless transition of services, and a sustainable long‑term technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managed Services Procurement Leadership
* Partner with the Business Services Branch and Corporate Procurement to lead the requirements‑gathering phase for the Oracle Managed Services procurement.
* Engage effectively with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, service expectations, and future‑state needs.
2. Strategic Roadmap Oversight
* Oversee the current managed service provider in developing a strategic roadmap for the Oracle PeopleSoft (EduPay) and Oracle Payroll platforms.
* Ensure the roadmap focuses on minimising customisation, reducing operational cost, and mitigating technical debt in preparation for the February/March 2026 go‑to‑market process.
3. Service Transition Planning
* Lead the development of a comprehensive service transition plan to ensure operational readiness and continuity of services.
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with transitioning to a new provider or retaining the incumbent under an expanded scope by March 2026.
4. Transition Implementation
* Direct the implementation of the transition plan commencing May 2026.
* Ensure a smooth, controlled, and well‑governed transition of services with minimal disruption to business operations.
5. Technical Leadership and Strategic Oversight
* Provide expert technical leadership across the Oracle ecosystem, with Oracle Payroll experience as a requirement.
* Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security standards, and long‑term digital strategy.
* Act as the senior technical authority for Oracle Cloud, PeopleSoft, and Payroll platforms, supporting decision‑making, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
