Civil Infrastructure Group are seeking a qualified Project Engineer with specialised civil knowledge and experience, particularly in the areas of bridges, water infrastructure, electrical infrastructure and concrete works.
The role of the Civil Engineer will include (but not be limited to) the following major duties and responsibilities.
- Determining construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
- Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control
- Prepare tender project documentation.
- Draft and interpret specifications, plans, drawings, and designs
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including QA/QC standards
- Conduct in office inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety
- Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs
- Protocols and report back on the progression
- Organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities
- Provide support, guidance, and technical assistance to the team
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with relevant departments, suppliers, consultants, and contractors
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- AutoCAD software experience is desired
- Excellent communication, report writing and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to think and react quickly to any difficulties which may arise in the workplace
