We've built a modern serverless architecture using AWS AppSync, (TypeScript), React, DynamoDB, and event-driven systems to ingest, process, and visualise IoT data in real-time. We're about to unveil breakthrough circular innovation technology for homes and offices that will change how we all participate in carbon reduction—shaping the future of connected cities and physical AI.
The Role
We're looking for a talented Mid-Level Full Stack Software Engineer to help build and scale the platform as we enter this growth phase. You'll work across our modern tech stack, contributing to both our IoT data pipelines and dashboard capabilities, while having the opportunity to grow into technical leadership.
This role will suit people who understand systems, context, and intelligence—engineers who see the bigger picture and can architect solutions that are both technically excellent and strategically valuable.
This is a pivotal role with a clear path to CTO as you learn our hardware and software ecosystem and help create our product evolution.
What You'll Do
* Build high-quality frontend experiences using React and TypeScript
* Develop backend services using, TypeScript, and GraphQL (AppSync)
* Work extensively with event-driven patterns: Lambda, SQS, Kinesis, and real-time data processing
* Design and optimise NoSQL data models, particularly DynamoDB
* Build the next generation of applications designed from the ground up around AI
* Design systems that refine, contextualise, and make data usable for reasoning models and enterprise AI agents
* Build context layers and integrate semantic structures that enable intelligent interpretation
* Help create intelligent, self-healing systems that detect anomalies, monitor schema changes, reconcile mismatches, and automatically correct issues
* Design pipelines with built-in "immune systems" that constantly watch for inconsistencies
* Shift from "fixing errors" to "designing systems that prevent errors"—building resilience into the architecture
* Develop intelligent event-processing systems deeply integrated into everyday workflows
* Support autonomous workflows powered by AI reasoning
* Contribute to AI and AR-related releases alongside our product manager
* Write clean, well-tested code and take platform ownership
* Participate in technical design and architecture discussions
* Engage with real field IoT operations—see your code working in flood catchments, rivers, and recycling systems
* Grow into technical leadership of our small hardware and software team
* Help shape the core products of a rapidly scaling Australian cleantech company
* Apply creative thinking to develop new approaches that could lead to new ventures

About You
Technical Skills:
* 3–5+ years of experience as a Full Stack or Backend-leaning Software Engineer
* Strong experience with TypeScript,, and React
* Hands-on experience with GraphQL APIs (building + consuming)
* Solid NoSQL understanding, ideally deep knowledge of DynamoDB
* Experience with queues, streaming, or event-driven systems (SQS, Kinesis, pub/sub, etc.)
* Comfortable working in AWS or similar cloud environments
* Strong focus on code quality, testing, and maintainability
