Senior Policy Analyst - Government Relations
This role involves analyzing government policy impacts on the company's operations and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree with substantial experience in tertiary education or complex regulatory environments.
The Senior Policy Analyst/Advisor – Government Relations will develop policy positions on topics such as the tertiary education legislative framework, international education, and student visa policy. Responsibilities include conducting research, supporting evidence-based advocacy, and representing Navitas at sector and political forums.
Key Duties:
1. Analyzing Government Policy Impacts: Conduct thorough analysis of government policies to determine their impact on the company's operations and objectives.
2. Developing Government Relations Strategy: Assist in developing a comprehensive government relations strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.
3. Creating Advocacy Plans: Develop effective advocacy plans for government relations campaigns that result in positive outcomes for the company.
4. Building Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, peak bodies, and policy influencers to promote the company's interests.
5. Preparing Submissions: Prepare submissions for government reviews and legislation, collaborating with stakeholders to shape the company's policy positions.
6. Promoting Initiatives: Work across the organization to promote initiatives that attract government support.
Requirements:
* A relevant degree with substantial experience or extensive experience and expertise in tertiary education or complex regulatory environments.
* Knowledge of the Australian tertiary education sector policies and emerging trends.
* Experience in producing high-quality policy documents, briefings, and research.
* Proven ability to advise senior leaders and develop strategic relationships.
* Strong analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Commercial acumen with creative problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively to develop policy reform strategies.
