The Team:
You will be based at Launceston General Hospital, working directly with a team of 8. In a hospital setting, this role involves a blend of acute and chronic presentations requiring bespoke interventions, ensuring a variety of work. You will receive support and guidance from an internationally experienced team from Hobart and the Tasmanian Orthotics and Prosthetic Service, spanning the state's North West.
The Role:
The Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician provides:
* High-level technical services, including complex work supporting the clinical management of clients needing prosthetic and orthotic services.
* Supervision and training in prosthetic and orthotic technical skills and knowledge as required.
You will need to:
* Collaborate with clinicians in designing and modifying orthotic, prosthetic, seating, and footwear devices to meet prescribed clinical needs.
* Undertake the technical manufacture, fabrication, repair, and maintenance of prosthetic, orthotic, and seating systems, including footwear modifications in consultation with clinical staff.
* Contribute innovative ideas into the technical design and manufacture of devices for complex consumer needs.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the publication date, this process may be used to fill similar vacancies.
Salary: $74,783 to $94,263 per annum, with an additional 12% superannuation contribution.

Eligibility:
Candidates must meet the essential criteria, including:
* Experience in technical and manufacturing processes, including hands-on production, troubleshooting, and efficiency improvements.
* Compliance with regulatory requirements such as NDIS Q&S and TGA regulations.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration – NDIS endorsed.
