Project Overview
Pluto Train 2 will expand a second LNG train at Pluto LNG near Karratha, WA, processing Scarborough gas with a capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning scope for this project.
Job Summary
The Instrumentation & Control Systems Field Engineer reports to the Lead Field Engineer and provides technical assistance, direction, and support to field supervision for construction and installation activities, including loop checks, instrument tubing pressure testing, system walkdowns, and more. Will work flexible schedules as required.
Major Responsibilities
Integral part of the Electrical and Instrumentation Field Engineering team.
Review material receiving reports and perform inspections.
Interpret and implement standard work procedures, project specifications, codes, and drawings.
Perform in-progress and final quality inspections of Electrical, EEHA, and Instrumentation installations.
Develop punch lists and monitor completion.
Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to turnover.
Create Installation Work Packages.
Issue material requisitions for permanent plant material.
Prepare and disposition RFIs, FCDs, and NCRs; collaborate with design engineering.
Coordinate with engineering to resolve design and constructability issues.
Track and coordinate closure of E&I RFIs/FCDs/NCRs.
Provide technical assistance to superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, foremen, and craft professionals.
Assist with PBQ training material and surveys.
Ensure proper material storage for environmental protection.
Responsible for quantity take-offs, control, verification, and reporting.
Maintain As-Built Records.
Complete Engineering Inspection Requests.
Education and Experience Requirements
University/B.S. degree in a relevant engineering discipline (may be waived with equivalent industry experience).
Minimum of 10 years experience in Instrumentation, with strong background in Electrical and EEHA.
Experience with Electrical Hazardous Areas and Australian Standards.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.
Certificate or Statement of Attainment from RTO (UEENEEM080A preferable).
Preferred experience in Module Yard LNG construction.
Knowledge of Universal Plant Viewer.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Additional Information
This position may involve exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, including working in confined spaces, variable shifts, and inclement weather. Candidates must use required PPE and comply with safety regulations.
