What's the role?
As part of the Data, Digital and AI (DDAI) team, the Senior Product Owner is accountable for the vision, roadmap, and delivery of a specific technical product that forms part of the Westpac Intelligence platform, ensuring Westpac Intelligence delivers a cohesive, enterprise‐scale suite of reusable intelligence capabilities spanning feature engineering, machine learning, and decisioning—while allowing deep focus and ownership on individual products. The Senior Product Owner partners closely with Chief Engineers, Engineering Managers, Architects, Risk, and Data leaders to ensure that each product delivers value independently while contributing to a coherent, well‐integrated intelligence ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include:
* Own the product vision, outcomes, and roadmap for the assigned Westpac Intelligence product.
* Act as the single accountable product owner for the assigned capability area.
* Clearly separate product intent (what & why) from engineering execution (how).
* Design products as reusable enterprise capabilities, not point solutions.
* Embed risk, compliance, and Responsible AI/ML requirements into product design by default.
* Provide transparent reporting on progress, trade‐offs, and dependencies.

Additional skills and experience required include:
* Senior Product Owner experience across complex platforms or enterprise capabilities.
* Strong conceptual understanding of data, analytics, machine learning or decisioning platforms.
* Proven experience shaping products alongside senior engineers and architects.
* Ability to operate effectively within regulated and risk‐sensitive environments.
* Exposure to enterprise data products, machine learning platforms, decision engines or agentic systems is highly desirable.
Benefits

* Flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
* Tailored learning and development opportunities to help you grow your career within the bank.
* Lots of opportunities to give back to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives.
