Role Overview:
As a Contract Manager/Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our civil construction projects. You'll work closely with general/project manager, site supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project contracts from award through to completion, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
* Procure materials, services, and subcontractors in line with project schedules and budget requirements.
* Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate with stakeholders to track progress and resolve delays.
* Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including WHS, QA records, RFIs, variations, and progress claims.
* Track project budgets and cost performance, identifying variances and opportunities for cost savings.
* Report on project profitability at completion, including analysis of budget vs. actual costs.
* Assist with estimating and tender preparation, including quantity take-offs and supplier/subcontractor pricing.
* Support overall project management, reporting, and communication to ensure smooth project execution.
* Assist with implementation of systems for project management.
What We're Looking For:
* 10+ years working for a main contractor at a project level
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within the civil or construction industry.
* Extensive experience in project management, quantity surveying, contract administration
* Knowledge of Australian construction contract law and regulations, specifically for New South Wales and Queensland.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
* Confidence with cloud-based software and implementation
* Strong attention to detail, with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
* A proactive and independent work ethic, suited to the fast-paced nature of a small business
* Solid understanding of WHS and compliance documentation in civil construction (desirable)
