About the Role
We are looking for a Ranger Coordinator to lead the Yugul Mangi ranger group. The role is based in Ngukurr and reports to the West Arnhem Regional Program Coordinator. It involves establishing and leading ranger operations on Country, delivering land management activities aligned to Traditional Owner priorities and approved work plans.
This hands‐on leadership position requires strong field capability, cultural awareness, and the ability to lead teams in remote environments. You will supervise and mentor a team of rangers, coordinate day‐to‐day operational activities, and ensure work is delivered safely, effectively, and in line with organisational, contractual, and work health and safety requirements.
Responsibilities
Support rangers in activities such as land stewardship, fire management, weed and feral animal control, and cultural site protection. Work closely with Traditional Owners to ensure that work is conducted in accordance with cultural protocols and Traditional Owner priorities.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum two years' experience in conservation and land management, including team supervision.
* Experience coordinating on‐ground activities in remote environments.
* Sound understanding of Aboriginal land management, cultural protocols, and working with Traditional Owners.
* Strong cross‐cultural communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Benefits
* Base salary of $84,985 per annum plus 15% superannuation.
* Salary sacrificing up to $15,900, plus meal entertainment and holiday accommodation benefit up to $2,650 per year.
* District allowance of up to $9,926 (DA4) per annum for individuals with dependents and $6,114 (DA3) without dependents.
* Generous leave provisions: 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave.

* Upon completion of 12 months of service an annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177.
