What you'll be doing
* Work on site at the Kwinana Refinery
* Be assigned a project, either lab or refinery‐based, that delivers business value and provides industry experience
* Analyse data and process information, perform refinery sampling and laboratory analysis
* Troubleshoot analytical instruments, manipulate data and trend analytical controls and results
* Develop chemical and physical methods to support continuous improvement projects and laboratory work
* Collaborate with scientists, engineers and support staff across Bayer Alumina Refining
What you can bring to the role
* Currently studying in a penultimate year of a tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering, Minerals Processing, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (applying across all year groups)
* Self‐motivated, passionate, and eager to learn and expand knowledge
* Able to work independently and communicate with multiple stakeholders to achieve project outcomesStrong teamwork, effective time‐management, organisation and problem‐solving skills
* Available to commence end of November for a full‐time 12‐week period ending February
* Able to travel to and from your work location each day

Alcoa's Kwinana Refinery is located in the Kwinana Industrial Area south of Perth and is the first of Alcoa's three West Australian alumina refineries. It uses world‐leading technology to improve production and environmental performance.
