Responsible for the monitoring and analysis of process and management KPIs, coordinating activities that aim at the continuous improvement of quality indicators through use of statistical, preventive and problem-solving tools. Create and populate the quality book.
Provide support for the analysis of non-conformities found in products and processes, investigation of its causes and implementation of possible solutions, as well as for the generation of information aiming at continuous improvement and product quality assurance.
Responsible for randomly inspecting working in progress and finished goods.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Monitor quality KPIs monthly and act on undesirable results.
2. Create and populate the quality book.
3. Coordinate the performance of Process Quality Assessments, issuing reports and accompanying the implementation of corrective actions.
4. Coordinate the preparation of quality diagnostics and participate in the elaboration of Corrective Action Plans in the Manufacturing departments.
5. Support quality improvement projects through the ISO 9001 Quality System standards.
6. Support analysis and problem solving through teamwork and use of corrective action tools.
7. Support statistical studies on critical product characteristics.
8. Propose and develop means of measurement.
9. Organize and maintain section quality records.
10. Know deeply the activities of inspection, monitoring, guiding and evaluating technically the activities of the inspectors, using quality KPIs (internal and site), aiming to maintain and encourage self-control, helping operators in the correct fulfilment of their activities.
11. Coordinate production/stores in inspections on raw materials, parts, components of products in development, prototypes, samples and pilot lots, recording quality occurrences.
12. Periodically audit critical plant processes, indicating faults and possible solutions or improvements.
13. Establish contacts with areas of support (Suppliers, Sales, PCP, Product Engineering, Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering), aiming to analyze problems regarding the quality of parts, components and products.
14. Periodically analyze the history of quality records and customer complaints, in order to prevent recurrences, in addition to coordinating data collection and defect reports.
15. Elaborate and analyze technical reports related to developed works, using statistical resources.
16. Assist in the elaboration and maintenance of updated inspection plans for products and for the evaluation of self-control.
17. Evaluate the need for rejection and the possibility of recovery or use in the state of raw materials, parts or products outside the specifications, considering the scope of the problem.
18. Analyze corrective action requests for products, components and raw materials and coordinate the issuance of these.
19. Inspect parts or products, according to pre-established standards and procedures, using appropriate instruments, specifications, catalogs or other relevant documents for inspections.
20. Compare the results obtained in the inspection with the specification values, taking the decision of acceptance in case of conformity or rejection in case of nonconformity.
21. Establish contacts with support areas (Sales, Product Engineering, PCP, Purchasing), seeking information on products and materials.
22. Prepare inspection reports related to the quality of the parts, finished products or in process, informing the relevant facts detected.
23. Perform other tasks related to those described above, according to the request of the Superiors.
Qualifications and Experience
1. Matric
2. Diploma in or working towards a diploma in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering or Industrial engineering.
3. Must be diligent, possess excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of procedures, identification of problems, root cause analysis and solving problems with departments.
4. Read and interpret Drawings.
5. Computer literate – Strong Excel Skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word.
6. Strong personality who can stand his/her ground to ensure quality.
7. Previous experience of Quality / ISO 9000 and 9001 would be an advantage.

2. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.

13. Ability to discuss and analyze cost allocations and recoveries directly with senior management as well as with the heads of cost centres.
Working Conditions
1. Office based, out of office errands from time to time.
2. Is subject to work beyond normal working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays should the need arise.
3. Required to attend and participate in continuing educational programs designed to keep you abreast of changes in your profession.
