Lab Technician Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Technician to join our team. As a key member of our processing and mining teams, you will be responsible for operating our small laboratory to deliver test results to required schedules.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in laboratory practices and be able to maintain the laboratory and equipment with a high standard of housekeeping. You will also be responsible for collecting samples from designated collection points, performing sample testing to standard operating procedures, recording test results and data according to scheduled reporting times, managing inventory and proper storage of lab supplies and general consumables, and maintaining lab records and data administration.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sample Collection and Testing: Collect samples from designated collection points and perform sample testing to standard operating procedures.
2. Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain the laboratory and equipment with a high standard of housekeeping.
3. Record Keeping and Data Administration: Record test results and data according to scheduled reporting times and manage inventory and proper storage of lab supplies and general consumables.
4. Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that all necessary licenses and certifications are maintained.
Requirements:
1. Demonstrated Laboratory Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a laboratory technician is required.
2. Laboratory Practices Knowledge: Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures is essential.
3. Computer Literacy: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and report writing skills are required.
4. Other Requirements: Radiation User License (or willingness to undertake training and licensing application), experience in sample preparation and safe handling of chemicals, demonstrated application of safe working procedures and inspection techniques, and basic First Aid certification are highly desirable.
This is a permanent, full-time position offering an 8/6 roster – DIDO from Mt Isa - stay at our village at Dajarra during your rostered-on time - transport from Mt Isa and meals provided.
