Your new company:
Victorian government's top statutory authority is looking for a Security Architect to be part of their Security team for a long term contract.
Your new role:
As a security expert with strong technical and soft skills, your key responsibilities include:
* Leading design efforts to embed digital security principles.
* Evaluating new services and tools for security risks and architectural fit.
* Tracking sensitive data (e.g., PII) and recommending protections like encryption or tokenization.
* Identifying security gaps and applying fixes, escalating risks when needed.
* Reviewing AWS security using tools like Security Hub, Config, GuardDuty, KMS, etc.
* Implementing security controls for IAM, applications, OS hardening, and WAFs.
* Performing technical security assessments across AWS environments.
What you'll need to succeed:
You'll need strong customer service skills and the ability to handle complex technical issues under pressure using creative and best-practice solutions. You should also have:
* Proven experience managing support tasks independently and in teams, using analysis and expert knowledge.
* Ability to lead and motivate external service providers to meet business goals safely.
* Solid understanding of enterprise application lifecycles, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
* Experience with application support, deployment, environment setup, and tools like ITIL, DevOps, Agile, and Scrum.
* Certifications like CISSP or CISA are a bonus.
