Job Overview :
As a Junior Anti-Slip and Slip Testing Technician at Unimat Pty Ltd, you will play a key role in supporting our mission to enhance safety by assisting with the testing, installation, and maintenance of anti-slip surfaces and systems. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn hands-on skills in a dynamic, safety-focused industry. You’ll work closely with senior technicians and clients to ensure compliance with safety standards and deliver high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities :
* Slip Testing : Conduct on-site and in-house slip resistance tests using specialised equipment (e.g., pendulum testers, tribometers) to assess surface safety under various conditions (wet, dry, etc.).
* Data Collection & Reporting : Record test results accurately, prepare basic reports, and assist in analyzing data to determine compliance with Australian safety standards (e.g., AS 4586, AS 4663).
* Surface Preparation : Assist in preparing surfaces for anti-slip treatments, including cleaning, sanding, or applying primers as directed by senior technicians.
* Anti-Slip Product Application : Support the installation of anti-slip coatings, tapes, or treatments, ensuring proper application techniques and adherence to product specifications.
* Equipment Maintenance : Clean, calibrate, and maintain testing tools and equipment to ensure accurate performance and longevity.
* Site Visits : Travel to client locations (e.g., commercial buildings, industrial sites, or residential properties) to perform testing and installations, adhering to safety protocols.
* Customer Interaction : Provide basic support to clients during on-site visits, answering simple questions and escalating complex inquiries to senior team members.
* Inventory Assistance : Help monitor and restock materials and supplies needed for testing and installations.
* Learning & Development : Participate in training sessions to build technical knowledge of slip testing methods, anti-slip solutions, and workplace safety regulations.
Skills & Qualifications :
* No prior experience required – full training will be provided!
* A keen interest in hands-on technical work and safety solutions.
* Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn how to operate testing equipment.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
* Good physical fitness (role may involve lifting equipment, kneeling, or working in various weather conditions).
* Valid driver’s license (preferred, as some travel to client sites may be required).

* Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for reporting is a plus but not essential.
