Cessnock, New South Wales – Civil Engineering Student Internship
Cessnock City Council is offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated student to join our team on a two-year part-time contract working 14 hours per week. You will gain hands-on industry experience while receiving support towards your tuition fees.
Eligibility and Requirements
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering)
Have already completed two full years of study by the end of ****
Have two years left of study as of ****
Be achieving satisfactory academic results in your current undergraduate studies
Be able to demonstrate well-developed interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Be able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritise work within an environment of competing demands
Have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Hold a current Class C unrestricted driver's licence
Responsibilities Overview
As a member of our Development Services team you will work on real development and subdivision projects providing meaningful engineering input from day one. You will collaborate with experienced professionals, build your technical skills, and gain valuable insight into how local government operates.
Benefits & Compensation
Salary as per the Local Government (State) Award plus 12% superannuation. ***** month opportunity relative to corresponding year of tertiary study. Part-time, 14 hours per week, over 2 days (flexibility provided around university commitments).
