The Parole Board of the Northern Territory is an independent statutory body established by Section 3A of the Parole Act 1971.
The Parole Board plays an important role in the Northern Territory criminal justice system and makes independent and informed decisions about the re- lease of prisoners on parole. The Board currently meets three times a month and the work of members of the Board includes additional preparation time.
Vacancies currently exist on the Board for a Medical Practitioner / Registered Psychologist, and for Community Membership. Appointments are made by the Administrator of the Northern Territory for a three year period. Remuneration is subject to the Assembly Members and Other Statutory Officers (Remuneration and other Entitlements) Act.
