Overview
The Opportunity As the Senior Design Officer, you will be responsible for providing engineering designs and documentation for construction and civil infrastructure projects outlined in MCCs Capital Works Program. Maitland, New South Wales. Full-time.
Responsibilities
* Provide engineering designs and documentation for construction and civil infrastructure projects outlined in MCCs Capital Works Program.
* Draw on technical expertise to advise Council's internal and external stakeholders on projects and liaise with stakeholders during the initiation and investigation of complex design matters.
* Assess the feasibility of significant infrastructure developments and provide innovative solutions during the design phase to drive successful project outcomes.
About You / Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Design, or demonstrated experience in a civil infrastructure design environment at a senior level.
* Expertise in design for roads, drainage, public spaces, cycle ways and recreation facilities.
* Ability to apply appropriate standards to design solutions.
* Use of tools and technology to aid in investigation and engineering of design solutions.
* Real world application of design solutions using appropriate civil construction procedures.
* Quantity calculations and estimating.
* Demonstrated experience in project management and ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders to develop strong client relationships; experience with Civil 3D, Stringer, Benchmark and MS Project is valuable.
Benefits
This is a temporary full-time role for 12 months, working 35 hours per week with a base salary ranging from $105,916 up to $117,566 per year based on demonstrated competencies plus 12% p.a. superannuation.
