Vacancy Overview
We're looking for a commercially minded, people‐first leader to run one of our large‐format Donation Centres, a high‐volume, high‐impact space handling up to 10 tonnes of donated goods per week.
Responsibilities
* Lead a large and diverse team, predominantly volunteers, to inspire, coach and create a culture where everyone feels valued and motivated.
* Oversee day‐to‐day operations of the Donation Centre, ensuring high‐quality service to donors, customers and the community.
* Build and maintain local relationships to drive donations, and use social media creatively to attract supporters.
* Design engaging promotions and events that keep customers returning, balancing operational oversight with creativity, community engagement and commercial drive.
* Recruit and maintain a bank of skilled and general volunteers who can collect and sort clothing, repair and up‐cycle electrical and furniture items.
* Establish links with local businesses, Salvation Army Corps and individuals to secure donations and volunteer time.
* Shape the centre, experiment with ideas, and grow both income and impact while contributing to The Salvation Army mission.
* Act as a self‐directed business owner within the mission, providing autonomy in decision‐making.
