An exciting opportunity for a Senior Freight Forwarding Agent to join the Blue Water Shipping team in our Sydney office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Freight Forwarding Agent willbe responsible for the coordination of assigned projects and customer service to allocated accounts.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and fast paced team who are committed to excellence of delivery and engagement.
Responsibilities
Co-ordinate orders, bookings, documentation, cartage, customs reporting and invoicing
Liaising with Customers, Carriers, Service Providers and Overseas partners
Arrange for Pick-up and delivery
Send Pre-alert to customer and agent
Follow up on shipment until arrival at Destination
Assist Senior colleagues with compilation of rates for quotes to be executed
Verification of freight rates against negotiated charge structure
Qualifications
Min 3 years freight forwarding experience in import and export
Understanding of International/overseas multimodal shipping and transportation
Understanding of domestic, air and ocean equipment types
Knowledge of Dangerous goods regulations and packaging requirements
Ability to maintain a high level of communication and transparency on customer activities
Growth mindset and problem-solving skills
High level of communication skills (written & verbal)
IT – Intermediate Word, Excel and Outlook
Must be able to gain and maintain a Criminal History clearance
Must have the right to live and work in Australia
