About This Role

Great opportunity to join Youth Justice in Werribee.
Lead and facilitate the delivery of engaging leadership and change management training for the Youth Justice Workforce.
Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities to develop improve the learning content and curriculum

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.

The Youth Justice Learning and Capability team is part of the Transformation, Development and Capability business unit, responsible for transformation, learning and development to support employees. The Learning Consultant is responsible for the development and delivery of leadership and change management training. The role is based across the Melbourne Metropolitan Region and will involve some travel to regional Victoria.

The Opportunity

Fixed term, full-time position until 30th June 2026, based in Werribee and other Youth Justice locations. The role is offered as a short-term contract, with the potential for extension based on funding
VPS Grade 5 role: $113,022 - $136,747 per year plus superannuation.
Lead and facilitate the delivery of engaging leadership and change management training for the Youth Justice Workforce.
Scope, design and evaluate leadership learning programs for Youth Justice, including facilitation guides, learning objects, and assessment to ensure effective design and delivery of all leadership programs
Establish and deliver a training plan including a training calendar.
Facilitate leadership assessments, such as Strengths Profile, MBTI, and/or other relevant leadership assessments
Monitor and evaluate training to continually improve learning outcomes for learners and understand their learning needs
Prepare high level project briefs, reports and service plans, and recommendations on complex issues which are clear, exhaustive, and provide strong support for a preferred position or action.
Utilise technology to improve learning delivery
Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, peers, leaders, and executives within Youth Justice, as well as with external stakeholders and the broader Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Work locations include Werribee Training Hub, Cherry Creek, Parkville, Malmsbury as well as other training venues in the metropolitan West, South-West and Inner Northern Suburbs.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will Have

Proven experience in facilitating leadership training face-to-face and virtually
Accreditation for the administration and debrief of leadership assessments
Experience in the development of learning solutions including face-to-face and eLearns.
An understanding of the implications of the work and its impact on Departmental and Government policy
Higher Education qualification in Leadership, Business, Management, Psychology, Organisational Development, or Human Resources

You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check, which you will need to maintain for the period of employment.
