HR Assistant Part Time
We're seeking a proactive, detail-oriented HR Administrator to support a busy and collaborative Human Resources team. This part- time role ( 3 days per week) is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on organisation, and values making a genuine contribution across the employee lifecycle.
You'll play a key role in ensuring HR operations run smoothly, compliantly, and with care — supporting staff, leaders and candidates alike.
About the Role
Reporting into the HR team, you will assist with day-to-day HR administration, recruitment support, compliance and onboarding, while working closely with payroll and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Support end-to-end recruitment activities, including advertising roles and coordinating interviews
* Assist with onboarding and inductions for new starters, contractors and students
* Maintain accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with Working With Children Check (WWCC) and child protection requirements
* Draft employment contracts, change of status letters and other HR documentation
* Liaise with outsourced payroll providers to coordinate pay changes and employee queries
* Manage screening checks, VEVO checks and employment documentation
* Support workers' compensation administration and return-to-work processes
* Monitor contract review dates, probation periods and staff movements
* Assist with HR reporting, audits and general administrative duties
* Contribute to maintaining HR systems and digital personnel files
About You
* Previous experience in an HR or administrative role (education or NFP experience highly regarded)
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills
* Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
* Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; HRIS experience an advantage
* Current NSW Working With Children Check (essential)
Qualifications
* Qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (or currently studying)
