Primary objective
Undertake mobile services support activities and associated operational ICT tasks to support the delivery of responsive and client focused
ICT services, including providing effective and timely responses and practical assistance to client agencies.
Context statement
ICT services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse environment.
The Technology Services unit provides a range of ICT support services, including mobile phone support, to enhance agencies' effective
operation of digital environments, ensuring alignment of ICT strategy in accordance with whole of Government policies and standards.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide advice and assistance for mobile hardware and services and other general ICT related queries, responding to client requests
in a timely manner ensuring quality service delivery.
2. Administer and coordinate a broad range of ICT and administrative actions to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and
procedures.
3. Develop and maintain good working relationships with client agency managers and employees to investigate and resolve less complex
mobile handset and services queries or escalate the matter for resolution.
4. Assist senior team members with the research and analysis of client agency ICT and mobile services and the preparation of reporting
on mobile telephony data, participating in and contributing to process improvement initiatives and projects.
1. Operate the various ICT related computer applications, mobile telephony and software packages providing guidance to clients on
effective use.
6. Work efficiently, independently and as part of a team to support the effective operation of the team and work unit, including
undertaking procurement.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Good general knowledge and experience with ICT services and infrastructure including software, hardware, mobile devices, video
conferencing, the development of associated documentation, application of policy and an understanding of contemporary ICT issues.
2. Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated experience in delivering professional ICT services, responding to and triaging
service requests.
3. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, with demonstrated capacity to interact with people at all levels
and from diverse cultures.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently or closely with senior team members and clients, maintaining confidentiality and resolving
sensitive issues.
5. Sound written communication skills to draft routine correspondence, policy, procedures and guidelines.
6. Excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills to manage own workflow, balance competing priorities and
promptly finalise tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Demonstrated proficiency operating a variety of computer and software packages.
1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and
respectful.
Desirable
1. Working knowledge of contract management and procurement policies and processes, or ability to quickly acquire.
1. Knowledge of and experience in the delivery of outsourced ICT services such as those provided to the NT Government.
2. Familiarity with the NTG mobile communication services.
