Ferry Master (Coxswain) | Based in Tasmania, AU
Lake St Clair Lodge is a small resort accommodation business located in the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Offering 42 cabins, restaurant, cafe, bar, water ferry service and scenic cruise on Australia's deepest lake.
Responsibilities
- Safe operation of the ferry and provision of commentary if operating the vessel on a scenic cruise.
- Assisting with grounds maintenance / handyman tasks.
- Preventative and ongoing maintenance on vessel.
- Promotion of the site and various products and services through protected operation of the ferry, product knowledge and general interest in the area.
- As a small business, assistance in the guest services teams may also be required from time to time.

Required skills and qualifications
- Current Coxswain's certificate: "Restricted" or "Open" ticket with passenger endorsement is an essential requirement to be considered for this role
- Current senior first aid and CPR
- Friendly mannerisms
Other considerations
- Please note that this position requires weekend work and grooming standards apply.
- Standard hospitality uniform is required to be worn (hospitality black). The company will provide the branded components of the uniform.
- This is a remote living position (lodgings are 5 kms from site, 2.5 hrs from Hobart) and you will be provided subsidized accommodation and a staff meal (while working). Please consider the reality of living in a remote location for an extended period prior to applying.
- Due to location this role would not be suitable for anyone with school aged children or pets.
- Employment is subject to satisfactory completion of Medical and a satisfactory National Criminal Record Check.
