We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Analyst/Lawyer. This role involves working on complex tasks, contributing to projects and collaborating across teams to implement best practice surveillance processes and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting with the delivery of thematic surveillances and ASIC wide or priority projects as required including planning and conduct of reviews, identifying, collecting and analysing information and data and formulating recommendations supported by evidence/data.
* Analysing data and information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships on key regulatory issues, with the ability to represent qualitative and quantitative findings.
* Clear and concise communication and reporting on supervision, surveillance and projects, including creating high quality detailed reports, papers and documents for a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Supporting and participating in the planning and delivery of meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
* Assessing applications to ASIC to exercise its discretionary powers, make recommendations and give effect to decisions.
* Maintaining knowledge of ASIC's regulatory framework and toolkit, relevant legislative and reporting requirements, domestic and international developments, and best industry practice models.
Requirements:
* A relevant tertiary qualification.
* Solid and relevant regulatory or professional services experience with broad knowledge of business models, business operations and regulatory requirements in the Australian financial services sector.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects and take responsibility for outcomes.
* Strategic thinking, analytical, investigative and research skills.
* Conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to draw reasoned inferences from quantitative and qualitative data, and to reach robust and practical conclusions.
* Experience assessing, verifying, and challenging complex information, and making sound regulatory judgements.
* Experience applying regulatory or professional judgement and scepticism including the identification and assessment of regulatory risks, problems, or issues.
* Excellent writing and editing skills including the ability to distil key messages, strong attention to detail in all technical matters and a continuous improvement approach to process and practice.
