About The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to lead one of New South Wales' most transformative health infrastructure projects—an ambitious initiative that will redefine care delivery for a rapidly growing and diverse community. As the senior project lead, you'll be at the helm of a high-profile endeavour that sits at the intersection of health planning, capital works, and clinical innovation.

You'll oversee every phase of the project—from strategic planning and design through to procurement, construction, and commissioning—ensuring alignment with NSW Health infrastructure standards, budgets, and timelines. Working closely with the SWSLHD executive team, clinical leaders, and Health Infrastructure NSW, you'll drive collaboration across a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, engineers, and advisors.

This role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally within the health sector. You'll bring strategic insight, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate clinical needs into future-ready physical spaces. If you're ready to shape the future of healthcare in NSW, this is your moment.

What You'll Be Doing

Responsible to the Associate Director Operations & Redevelopment, Capital Works & Infrastructure. Project Director Bankstown Hospital Health Neighbourhood will assume a leadership role for the redevelopment of Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Community Services by providing expert advice on project planning, change management matters, strategies and solutions. They will achieve this through liaising with expert best practice sources within South Western Sydney LHD in partnership with Health Infrastructure and other external Project Managers.

The Project Director Bankstown Hospital Health Neighbourhood will work in collaboration with the Bankstown-Lidcombe General Manager, local Executive Leadership Team, Redevelopment Team and other key stakeholders to lead all aspects of the Bankstown Hospital new build & redevelopment of the existing site. This includes coordinating all activities required to ensure the successful project completion, improvements to models of care and the safe provision of patient care through all stages of the project.

Where You'll Be Working

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, situated in one of Australia's most multicultural areas, offers a vibrant and inclusive work environment. With strong affiliations to the University of New South Wales, University of Sydney, and Western Sydney University, the hospital provides extensive opportunities for professional development and career progression.

The upcoming $1.3 billion redevelopment will significantly enhance healthcare delivery, featuring expanded emergency services, intensive care, and advanced surgical facilities. This project will not only improve patient care but also create a modern, integrated health neighbourhood, making it an exciting time to join the team at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.

The hospital's commitment to innovation and excellence ensures that staff are supported in their roles and can make a meaningful impact on the diverse community they serve.
