Network Technician Role
Australian citizens with NV2 clearance and previous defence experience are preferred for this role.
The Network Technician will be part of the SEA2273 Sub program within the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO), ICT Delivery Division, Chief Information Officer Group, Department of Defence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, build, and deploy complex network solutions to support business needs.
2. Complete and review all associated network documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Provide expert advice on network technologies to customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to inform project definition, system architecture, and process improvement initiatives.
4. Create knowledge articles on key processes, network devices, and systems that can be shared across the service desk and IT support community.
5. Identify opportunities for innovative service improvements that enhance network solutions and provide additional value to customers.
6. Collaborate with peers in a high-performing team environment to achieve common goals.
7. Leverage experience as a Network/Gateway engineer to drive technical excellence.
Technical Requirements:
1. Strong understanding of routing technologies.
2. Proficiency in switching technologies.
3. Knowledge of next-generation firewalls.
4. Experience with Voice Over IP solutions.
5. Familiarity with enterprise wireless LAN infrastructure.
6. Understanding of network segmentation concepts.
7. Knowledge of flow control mechanisms.
Industry Standard Frameworks:
* TOGAF framework expertise is required.
