Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Support Manager, the Project Officer will be part of a strong team leading projects and portfolios that include coordinating events, project management, property, travel and fleet coordination, procurement and contract management. The Project Officer will be team and customer service oriented, flexible, able to work independently and manage competing priorities. The Project Officer will also need to have strong written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to build relationships with a broad range of people.
Role
* Provides administrative support to a range of projects, initiatives, services or systems to deliver on IBNs strategy and outcomes.
* Organise meetings, forums and events, including invitations, venue and travel booking, equipment, catering, room set up and meeting correspondence.
* Provides customer service to members and stakeholders.
* Responsible for purchasing and procurement, including coordination of consumables and merchandise.
* Supports and participates in the preparation of reports, minutes, presentations and other materials for internal and external stakeholder groups.
* Maintains and updates corporate records and coordinates mail services.
* Reviews tasks and administrative procedures to identify and implement improvements.
* Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork and contributes to decision‐making.
* At all times performs duties in accordance with organisational policies and standard operating procedures.
* Continuously conducts themselves in accordance with the IBN Code of Conduct, HR policies and Work Health and Safety policies.
* Supports travel and accommodation bookings and coordination of fleet.
* Other duties as directed.
Requirements
* Ability to work with Aboriginal people and demonstrate an understanding of Aboriginal Australian culture.
* Good verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
* Proven time management and organisational skills and experience with a diverse workload within time constraints to meet deadlines.
* Well‐developed experience in undertaking administrative tasks with the ability to provide support services including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentations.
* Proven skills in research and conceptual thinking, with the ability to analyse information to solve problems.
* Ability to work positively and effectively in a team environment to achieve outcomes.
* Adaptable and open to learning new skills and methodologies.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Appointment Requirements
* National Police Check (no older than 6 months and renewed every 3 years).
* Valid Western Australian Driver's Licence (not Learner's permit).
* Able to travel and work throughout Western Australia according to business needs.
* CPR certification HLTAID009 (to be completed and maintained on commencement).
