About the Role
Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care toour patients, and we currently have two casual vacancies based at Tūārangi Home inAshburton.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will assist nursing staff withpatient cares whilst maintaining a safe and clean work environment. You willenjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, have excellent interpersonaland organisational skills, a high level of confidentiality and the ability towork well under pressure.
This role is primarily based in Tūārangi Home, however attimes you may be required to work in some of the other wards at AshburtonHospital.
About the Service
Tūārangi Home is a 37 bed Residential Care facility thatprovides hospital level and dementia care at both rest home and hospitallevels. We are a skilled and dedicated workforce, working within the dementiaand hospital units to provide quality care in a friendly environment. Webelieve that dignity of all individuals is paramount, and at Tūārangi wediligently maintain an atmosphere of empathy, non-judgmental and respectfulcare.
About You
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as ateam
* Knowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
* Previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant role orsimilar is advantageous, but not essential
* Previous experience working with people with dementiais advantageous, but not essential
* A certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 3 or 4) ora willingness to work towards one
* Ability to cover shifts across Monday - Sunday; morning, afternoon and nights
